It sounds like it is a fault on the EB-2000 echo board if so, just try this one disconnects J2 and J3 and connect them back to back (E.G. mic I/P to mic O/P and PTT I/P to PTT O/P) and give it a try, if it ok then the echo bridge IC is duff.
