Well there Mr. timrim I have to give you a big thumbs up on this one. After going through and soldering the board and more of the board with no results. Thanks again timrim. I did a bunch of resolders with no luck so far. I'll do more tomorow. While I was at it I pulled C442,C447,C448,C529 and checked them also. All checked good. Thanks again.

Thank you for the reply timrim. I'll go through and check for the bad solder. Is there a certain area that seems to be consistant with this problem? And would you happen to know where I can find the voltages for the audio chip. Thanks again for your help. BILL

Hey there Rick! I unsoldered the little protective cover over Ic 10 to check the volts for pin 8 and when I powered it up the channels were back to where they should be. Hey there Rick! I replaced crystal x2. No change. After pushing around,I found that the 9pin plug that is on the little board with the channel switch was shorting out. I pulled the switch with the board and found out that all 9 solder joints were cracked. resolder all points and the freq. is back on...

Well replaced audio chip and c112 still no audio or swing or pa. If you turn the volume all the way up you faintly here talking. I mean faintly. The needle still shows receive just no sound. Well back to the bench. Any other imput would be great. Thanks guys.

Hey there! I had already pulled the audio chip before I read your last post. I still pulled the c112 and checked it. The cap is a 470uf 10v. It showed it was 498uf on the meter. Thanks for the reply nomadradio! No sir all the wires are ran to the battery and none to the dashboard. The radio never goes out, it stays on and all. Lights work,has power just the rx/tx goes out then comes back on. I also have noticed that the rx sometimes gets quieter then normal for a few minute...

Thanks for the reply Rambling man. Resoldered the 10.240 but no change. Went back through and doubled check for cold solder and found nothing. Is it possibale that one of the transisters is getting bad? Or is it when they go they just get up and quit? Well it's back to the bench. Thanks again. BILL
