interested in beams ??

It all depends on how big a beam not beams you can install.A good way to get your feet wet with a beam is to start out small ( 3-4 element) and remember that when it comes to skip it doesn't matter if vert or horz as it changes constantly. If using it for local best to use vert. Most 3-4 element ante...

Subject: Test Your Knowledge (President Lincoln/HR2510).

Well here's what I did years ago with a 2510 when using it with a 6 meter transverter. I removed the shorting bar near the final and driver to get the output down to the milliwatt level to feed my 6 meter transverter everything worked fine with the exception of the power output being in the low mill...

Tnx for the info but I am not interested in getting more power at this time and the Rogerbirds site has a comprehensive review with mods etc, lots of good info there.Basically just going to use the 2510 as a back up for my other mobile rig.

Why bother wasting time with talk back, try putting a variable output control or something usefull like that.I had t/b on my Ranger 158EDX and disabled it .

HR2510 bias adjustment

I just got an old HR2510 and was checking it over to make sure it is ok.When checking the bias on the driver and final I notice that it is almost impossible to set the bias to 50ma on the driver, seems to be erratic, I cleaned up the VR but its still the same, the final is bang on just the driver se...

John, my 158 receives just fine on ssb but I did do a little tune up on it shortly after I got it.You have to be careful and take your time while doing this.Maybe Rick is away fishing as I know he is a great fisherman,he sent me a pic of a very large silver carp he caught once.I would not give up on...

Try to be a bit more specific about the agc and ssb, is it that the agc is a bit fast? I have a ss158edx and my major complaint is that it drifts a lot between warm up and cold ,I should say more than a bit, a whole lot which is very annoying. The agc action is not as smooth as my old TRC451 which in...
