Realistic TRC-57

I have an old TRC-57 radio I'd like to add channels to. I haven't been able to find anything for this radio. I'm wondering if it is even possible. The only info I've found is for modulation and power tuning. Any info at all will be appreciated. 73

Re: rci2950 wobbling on ssb

Can't help on the lining up of your clarifier, but the talk-back is nothing more than the speaker being grounded with a resistor in line (the value depends on how loud the radio is I think I used a 10k but I can't remember for sure). Either cut the ground or put a toggle in so it can be switched of.

Re: Ford transcievers

Digging up an old post here. :D
Does anyone have any of these transeviers that they would be will to part with? I had a Royce 501 but only half the channels worked so the 148 went in.

Cobra 148 mic wiring

I've seached high and low and I can't find the wiring diagram for the stock 148 5-pin microphone. Can someone just list what color wire goes to what pin number? Thanks. I have the radio in my 1971 F100 and it is way to load to have the power mic anymore. I just talk local if at all so the Sedelta ca...

I forgot about this post. Thanks for the info. The problem still exsists. I haven't had time to take a look at the radio like I wanted. I've been busy buying old trucks. I have two 1967 F350's and a 1971 F100. I've been making one good F350 from two not so good ones. Maybe I'll have time befor...

Ford transcievers

Has anyone ever come accross one of these transcievers before? They were offered as an opion from Ford in the early seventies. If they are around, how much do they go for, and how available are they? Here is a page from a pamphlet of options for Ford trucks in 1971. Any info about these would be gre...

I have a triple beep in my 148 and I'd love to shove it up the ass of all the bitches who are complaining. These guys are "Technical Helpers" and are being less than helpful. If you don't want to give tech support then hand in your badge.

You can ground the positive side of the speaker to the chassis also. Use a 100 onm potentiometer in line so it has volume adjustment.

I always wanted the 2000 also, Mr Lee. I hope you win one of the bidding wars and get one. If done right, they get super loud. Let us know if, or when, you get one.

That's good news!!!! I hope it is an easy fix. It even sounds like I could do the repair myself. I have modified maney radios, with the use of books. I am only an ametur, by no means am I an expert. But, it does seem like I accually might be able to do this myself. Thanks a lot for your help. 73s, J...

2950 receive not right

I stated in the "Shout out" section that I am returning to the hobby after 5 years of absence. I ended up taking the 2950 out of my truck, because it wasn't working right, and put the 148GTL back in. That was about a year before I took all my equipment and packed it away. Now I want to rei...

Good to be back to this hobby!

I'm glad I found a forum dedicated to this hobby. I remember my father's radios back in the '70's. I actually still have one of his Royce 23 channel crystal rados. I have been absent from the CB's for about 5 or 6 years. I recently unboxed some of my old radio collection and it resparked my interest...
