Thanks for the reply! I had forgotten to mension that the radio/amp are in one unit, the general grant. I could probably seperate the supplies, with a common ground, to avoid burning internal liks. The theory i have mensioned was a way to dephase the three transformers 120 derees, by connecting them...

old turner+2 Mic

The crystal in the microphone stopped working several years ago. I really liked the performance of it, and would really appreciate a suitable replacement for it. Would anybody know where to get an original, or something that would perform like it? Any info is greatly appreciated, so thx in advance. :D

High-current power supply

I'm building a power supply to run a mobile rig and a linear from home. It needs to be at least 45 amps @ 12.8 volts. The idea is not to have it regulated to keep the cost down. Without regulation, a.c. noise can be a problem without proper filtering. A single-phase 60 cycle unit with a bridge recti...

pluto board

THX!! Rick, you were a great help. I got him to open it up and search a little harder and discovered the P/N of the board: EPT360014B. The only other question that I had was how to perform the channel expansion? In the original manual that came with the radio, the TX and RX frequencies are described...

Galaxy Pluto board I.d.

Is there any way of correctly identifying the PCB from a galaxy pluto mobile? My friend wants to perform a frequency expansion on his rig, yet cannot give me any info about it. The I.D. tag is missing, and the only part numbers he could give me was RJE1065627, on the board, which I could not match u...

general grant, fading recieve.........

I checked the PCB#, and upon dissasembly, I found the P/N for the board. Instead of EPT690010z, it was EPT690010C. Will this change the above stated modifications? If so, thanks in advance for the information. Hope to hear from you soon....... fuzzyfireman338 :D

General grant, fading receive as unit warms up

Would anybody have any info as to why my general grant radio would have fading receive after unit warms up? I have read the post on the EPT690010Z board, and not yet performed any mods except the frequency expansion. The dealer where i bought it did the modification. also wattage was tweeked a littl...
