Radioshack TRC-433 Base station

I'm picking up a Radioshack TRC-433 Base unit and I'm looking for mods for it. I'd like to know what all i can do with it as for tweaking the power to tune it propperly for my setup. Hey, if anyone in the south eastern WI area has an old AC powered 40 ch base unit for sale for real cheap please let me know.
I'm not looking for anything spectacular.. I'm just tired of running a mobile unit in the house.

I've been told that it draws between 20 and 30 amps.. Havent' tested it seeing as how it's been in my mobile most of the time and it really didn't matter too much.. but now that i want to use it on the base (because i have a 4 pill in the mobile) i know that the PS that i'm using for the radio itsel...

Ok.. I have a 2 pill amp that has two 2290 transistors in it.. I need to know what the minimum amount of power is to run something like that.. Sears Road talker 40

Hey guys.. I have a Sears Roadtalker 40 that is rather weak and I'd like to pump it up so to speak.. My amp requires 15 watts to key up and it only keys up at 3 watts and only swings to about 10.. I haven't been able to find anything on these radios through google, and I'm looking to get it up a lit...
