just a thought guys may the micro switches on the front pannel be at fault

ok kingkong it sounds like he has took the finals out on both or the drivers give him a clip round the lug hole

The first thing i would be trying is your power supply yes your amp meter should go up around the 5-8 mark it sounds odd that both radios are doing the same thing

Have you tried it on a homebase twig with a power supply and how are powering it in your car you will need 12v source straight from battery if poss and not through the cig socket (9v) could not be enough juice getting through also stupid question you havent knocked the variable power on it at all an...

Thanks warhorse for all your help i got all the info from open channel with its useful pictures the only problem i have is i have wired up the switch one side to switch between uk and mid but they is 2 other wires on it that make it more or less bang on freq and cant tell where these go from the pic...

Have you checked the diode where the power comes in this is what normally goes first get your meter on it and you should only get a reading one way of it on( continuity) if you get a reading boths ways its gone also look for tracks that may have burnt out too
