Curious if anyone knows what L20 adjusts or could tell me where to find what it adjusts on Cobra 25 LTD soundtracker , manufactured in may 97. Its the tuning can right next to pa/ext speaker jacks. Long story short i left it open and my very helpful son turned it all they way in. Recieves and transm...

Anyone used/got a Superstar dm-452 mic?
I've got one and all it will do is squel. Ive tried it on several radios , adjusted every imaginable way and even did a cap and resistor mod to the audio line to stop rf feedback . Echo sounds great but when you turn it up enough to modulate it squels horrible. I bought it new about 2 months ago. Iv...

I dont know if the 1969 will work in the cobra dx , If you turn up the modulation pot and make sure you have good swr's , your do about all that radio is capable of. Not sure if an atv has enough ground plane for you to get you swr low enough. Possibly cophasing two antenna's will work better as the...

Im not an expert but Ill try to help the final is in the left rear corner of radio. It will be bolted to the frame of the radio. It should say c2078 on it or just 2078 on it . The driver looks like the final but im not sure what number will be on it but will be fairly close to final . Just make sure...

Disable Sountracker on Cobra 25
Was wondering if it possible to disable sountracker on transmit only as it has a terrible squeal on transmit with soundtracker on. Sounds fine with sountracker off. It was manufactured in 97. Was not sure if i needed the pcb # or not. Will get it if it makes a difference

Power Mic Problems
Ive seen that sometimes the squeel is from rf feedback. I do not have talkback on either radio. I tried the defpom resolution for feedback under radio mods. Which was a 1k resistor and two caps. Still does the same thing. Is there something else i can try for rf feedback or could it be something els...

Power Mic Problems
Ive got a question about power mics and echo mics. I just got a superstar dm-452 and ive tried it on a couple of my old cobras and all it does is squel. I turned the pots in the mic down to the point where the radios have no swing then the squel goes away. But the radio sound like %#$%. I have the d...

I just picked an amp today and I cant find any info on it. Its a Page 75 by Electronics Unlimited. Its works fine and puts out around 80 watts on my meter but i was curious if anybody knew what the max input would be for this amp. I dont want to overdrive it and blow it up. It looks to be pretty old...

Correction , I didnt blow up my radio. It nows swings low 40's , thanks to timrimm , and I appreciate the hell out of guys like timrim and ramblingman helping me out and a big part of this hobby is tinkering around with these radios. I would rather blow up a $75.00 radio tweaking it and having fun w...

ekl mod , setting bias voltage
I just installed the ekl 2030 mod to my new 29 ltd and it has low output. approx 3 watts dead key , 8 swinging. Ive seen where the bias voltage needs to be set to raise output. Ive got around 1.5 volts to the far left leg of the 2030. I decided to put a 10k pot from pos side of c117 as described in ...

Does anyone know if you can replace the finals in older radios and get the power gains the cobra 29's are supposed to be getting. I ve got a few old 77-882 , 13-882c , 13-857 and would like to make loud. Would the 1969 be better for these older ones or will it even work

Cobra 29 ltd Mod or Linear ?
Hello all , I have been looking thru all the old posts and was curious. I have a new 29 ltd classic and am looking to extend my range. Are the final, swing , modulation kits and mods worth the trouble or should i just get a cheap little amp like the ones from rm italy. I would love to tear into this...
