Re: RM KLV350 short circuits?
Hi Dave, Sounds plausibel to me. At this point an order has been placed to obtain two new valves as nothing else seems to give any troubles. I didn't get the chance to test the amp without the valves fitted so I'll do this a soon as possible... it probably (hopefully) figures  Thanks for the h...

Re: RM KLV350 short circuits?
... meanwhile I checked all the capacitors and diodes... all fine. I checked the relay switch as well and it works properly. Only thing left seem to be the valves..? What I found out is that when the amp is hooked up between the transceiver and the antenna it gives a bad SWR whereas my own amp doesn...

RM KLV350 short circuits?
Hi all! Today I received a RM KLV350 with a possible short circuit problem from a very dissapointed owner and good friend. I've tried some plausible solutions but none worked. The thing is that when the amp is switched on and on stand-by, transmitting/receiving is no problem and the valves light up ...

Re: President Lincoln no power after thunderstorm.
Hi Ralph!, Yesterday I unsoldered C116 after a long search for this tiny component and tested it. (Un)fortunately the condensator passed the test and was soldered back in. I checked the other C115/114 and they worked fine too... Hmzz.. I guess this baby needs a real doctor, only if it was to find th...

Re: President Lincoln no power after thunderstorm.
Hi Ralph! Thanks for the suggestion! I didn´t have the uppertunity yet to check this capacitor but as internet provides me with some info, this issue was mentioned a couple of times on different sites. But if it is this capacitor, does it explain the 13,8v between TP4 and TP3? Thanks! 19WAC495 John

Re: Ranger 2950DX S meter
Hi! First of all my apologies for the late reply! I just bumped into this old thread while searching the web for any more mods for my 2950DX! Anyway, Initially I decided to let the idea of an external S meter go because I wasn't able to obtain satisfactory readings from this particular meter despite...

Thanks for the helpful reply's! I wasn't sure that the cathode side of the diode D14 was the right point for hooking up an S meter but I tried it a few hours ago and it seems to work perfectly!... However, it needs some alignment obviously due to the fact that the used s meter was a little too jumpy...

Ranger 2950DX S meter
Hi all! After some modifications and a proper re-alignment in order to let the radio perform perfectly for it's class, I would like to add one item to complete the radio's modification and that's an external S-meter. Now, I might have a slight idea where to look on the PCB to find a point where I ca...

2950DX bit low pwr output?
Hi all! First of all my apologies for me possibly placing the question in the wrong subforum... Second of all I would like to thank those responsible for creating this forum and giving me the chance to (hopefully) get an answer to the following issue.. I purchased a Ranger 2950DX and couldn't...
