Does this work on the Mk1 148 GTL-DX / Superstar 360FM? Or is it for the US market ones only?

Hi Rick I too am very impressed by your knowledge especially of the obscure (to me at least) old am radios. I agree though on people not having the courtesy to say thank you. I have a few emails a day from people on ebay asking whats wrong with their radio. If i can help out i do but its not very o...

What's the difference between the Turner M+2/U, and the JM+2

Question is in the topic. I only ask because I have just bought one of each, and they look identical except the name, so what's the difference?

Superstar 360 FM question

Those that have one of these will know they're based on the Mk1 Cobra 148 GTL-DX, and also they have BLOODY AWFUL FM deviation! And that brings me cunningly to my problem; how do I change the bloody awful FM transmit audio? I've already put an Astatic "Teardrop" on it, and even with the to...

Anyone know the VR to adjust the squelch on one of these? The one I have doesn't squelch anything below S7, which in a "High W*nker" area makes conversation difficult (idiots STILL playing music on the 19!!).

It's very intermittent. Some channels work sometimes if I jiggle my knob a bit (oooh err, obviously), some work anyway, some have recieve, some have nothing. I've tried contact cleaner and that's helped a bit, but it looks like it may be a buggered switch because it's the same on all bands and in al...

I had this with my Lafayette 1200FM. It turned out to be a broken track from the switch to the PLL. Look for cracks in the mainboard, dry joints around the switch/PLL, or where a wire may have broken/come adrift.

Ham International MM2 problem

Here's what happened. Got this radio from EBay and it worked fine. Suddenly, a couple of days ago, it stopped TXing on certain channels. Could the chan selector switch be FUBAR'd, or could it just be a dry joint? It makes a difference if I go up or down to the channels, but I have nothing between 1 ...

read this about helping the PTBM059 FM modulation.... http://home.btconnect.com/blaggard/059.htm this is the bit I'm interested in.. "all we need do is to isolate the VCO from the smoothing circuit (we don't want to smooth our audio input!) by cutting the track that connects TP2 to the VCO bloc...

Yup, lip mounts are good. I have one on the tailgate of my VW Golf, and that's very stable. Remember to scrape the paint off where the grub-screws clamp to the lip, though, or you'll have problems with VSWR.

This rig seems to have a fault in that it's off frequency on most channels on all bands. I know it's ok on 10 and 16 on mid and high, but the rest are all over the place and I can't find them on my lafayette 1200FM. Any ideas?

Clarifier to KC shift mod: help needed

I have a Lafayette 1200FM (similar to MM2, Jumbo1, identical mainboard), and want to change the clarifier to a KC shift to make it easier to get UK40 channels. What do I connect to where and how? Or, can anyone direct me to a webpage with the necessary info?
