Channel numbers don't match frequencies

My Texas Ranger Base 696 SSB has went haywire. I don't know when it happened as I most of the time are on channel 8. Anyhow I was flipping channels around, and found out there all screwed up. Here's what I have. Channels 1,5,6,7,8,12,13,14,18,19,20,26,27,28,33,34,and 35 are all normal and in place. ...

i ran across a mod that says to jump D8 what does this do to the radio ? also i have seen schematics which have the number of D8 penciled in as 1N4003 does changing it from 1n4004 to 1n4003 do something ?

I ran across this on another forum and found it to work realy good for the Cobra 29.It may be of use to some. Add a 1/4 watt 4.7 ohm resistor from the + side of C116 to the gate of the 2030 this is the left leg looking at the face of it. Replace C62 with a 390 PF Cap. The post suggest to jump D8 but...

Can someone tell me is there a way to calibrate these myself. I have a PDC 700 and a PDC 600. I think the 700 is OK but the 600 seems off id like to be able to check them both if there is a way to do this.
