you cant put 11 metres in a 730 without using crystals you have to remove part of the 10metre band to do so or use aux mode ,reson being these are a crysal controlled receiver they dont have any general coverage receiver in them ,r48 etc is for abit more output i should know i owned 1 ,thanks david ...

that wouldnt be full power youd have to rewind all the rf coils for tuning and tx and rx coils ,the vco in the 858 are all over the board the most ive seen them do is from 26055 to 29105 and thats 1 watt on 29mhz and the rest of the radio was only about 8 watts ssb ,thanks david

thats fine, i bought it to replace a 2824 chip which is unexpandable. it also comes with the bits and pieces that allows the ax144 or pc 122 clarifier to slide 5khz both ways ok, thx david

dear deprom, i have a upc 2816 pll it comes with a diode etc i think it is thats for ssb cbs only .but the 2816 i have 1 in stock unused ,it wouldnt cost hardly anything from australia by airmail as theres no weight in them ,thanks david

your right im wrong i know a guy here that has a few he wants $30 us each for them but trhere brandknew thats for the 1156 i was think of a upd 2816 which is a phased locked loop normally used to replace the unmodifiable 2824 in ax144s etc the 2816 will go in 5khz steps in the pins etc where the 282...

you can fix it to ways put a slider in it so you can adjust your both tx and rx freqs or align the tx or rx ceramic pots in the ax144 ,president ar144, pc 122 p300 pro640e there all the same radio. i know those adjustments are up the front of the radio, david nsw australia

hi so you know if you stick a pair of mrf477s in them theyll do 100 watts ssb easy same as the htx 100 same chip. but its not all mode you can put lsb back in the htx 100 also am etc but a fair bit of work needed ,thanks hamguy2 nsw australia

hi i see your talking about the president adams cb radio i have 3 of them here 1 still in its box,the best way to put a slider or tx clarifier is when you put the wires on the regulator to give it its power to slide some wobble on ssb ,the best way is to do it i found is to install a seperate regula...

thats an extra 6db of noise youll get after the mod ,the 2950s need a few things done to them 1 is a channel rejection or ti filter you install that and that makes the band wider on rx getting rid of unwanted noise hetrodyne etc ,also they should have worked on the display more the 2510 are a better...

hey i disagree on the 200 cobra being rubbish .there better than a 2950 atleast when you mod them they dont lose or there channel rejection like the 2950 does etc and the 200s are well built for the price, thanks hamguy2 nsw australia

they have a 2816 audio ic in those radios if you blow it there not readily available so id leave it if i was you, thanks hamguy2 nsw australia

hi there, its a 2824 chip or pll the only way you can mod this is changing plls or by using a expander board with crystals ,you can unlock the clarifier also but you need a swing kit, thanks hamguy2 nsw australia

i know the radio i had as 352d and a 4740 and a 4730 the pll is a 40013 the pll is obsolete to buy here in australia .but it sounds like its out of tune or maybe 1 of the coils for rx is shot or needs a good tune up .the 4740 i have one down in the 26300 orso region but they only went as high as 277...
