cobra 148gtl no sound

i have a 148gtl made in taiwan it transmit and recieves according meter but no sound through internal speaker or external speaker. i've changed mics no difference, i also changed ic5 chip no difference except that chip gets warm now where before it didnt. any clue or help. thanks.

check the ic 6 ta7222p is a audio amp

i also noticed if i put two or three of my fingers on board just right i could here some sound

i changed that ic chip mentioned before now the ic gets hot and still no sound

Try unsoldering one side of R87 and D65 to see if the audio returns.

hey rick thanks for info but it did not seem to help any but i can here a little static in speaker if i hold it up to my ear any other suggestions thanks

Check all the caps around the audio chip, like C175, 176,179 and 180. Let us know on how you get on.

and also do i need to solder r87 and d65 back in. thanks again

Yes solder R87 and D65 back in place, as you are green, it would just be easy to replace the caps and hope for the best or take the radio to some one who can fix it for you. sorry I could not be more helpful, but I am very busy.

replaced caps C175,176,179,180 and no difference still no sound

finally got this 148 fixed replaced caps again around audio chip and came to life thanks guys
