Post by marveylus22 »

Some one completely removed D-11 in a radio I just bought. What diode # is it to replace it? Thank you.

It looks like a 1N4148 should do it.

One more thing sir. With the front of the radio pointing towards you, and component side up which way does the banded end go? To the left or right?

HEY MARV..,,What i do is put a 10k resistor in series with the amc
diode..That way you dont over modulate. But will still have good swing.
Just a thought...............Ramblingman

HEY MARV..,I always put in in series with the cathode (banded end).
Probably doesnt make much difference through.Should be o.k. either way.
I always use a 10 k ohm resistor.Some suggest 1-10 k ohm.But
i always get good results from a 10k..Even when in close prox.
audio remains clean.
