Slamming needle

Hello to all.
Today my Cobra 25 LTD Classic started when I key up the needle slams to the right.
I have the swing mod in it and a variable using the rf gain knob.
Even when I have it set to 2 watts it still slams.
Any ideas?

Hi Bob, have you used another radio on the same antenna system to eliminate that as a cause?

I had to adjust the meter pot.
It is fine now.
