Radio Make and Model: DSI 3500 Frequency Counter
PCB Number:
PLL Number:
Test gear available: DVM
Symptoms: The "gate" light stays on; does not blink as I recall that it did. Display lights up, but does not indicate a frequency. Could that be a dead crystal? I do not have a manual or schematic for the unit.
What is working: Powers up, lights the numerals, regulated power supply output is +10vdc and +5vdc.
What has been tried: Visual inspection doesn't show any obvious component failures. Battery case (for 8 "D" cells) fell apart and am using the plug-in adapter (+12.0 vdc output checks good). Compared with another counter that is working.
Did it suddenly happen ?: Yes. Unit has been in storage and unused for a number of years.
Anything else that may be of help?:
