I have a gme TX4000R it is about 8 years old and I have had no problems with it until now. Last month when I transmitted it was broken up conversation and receiving transmissions I would get the low beeps during the conversation. I bought a new 1.2m 6db aerial today as the old one was as old as the unit but still getting the low beep on receive, haven't checked transmission quality yet.
Maybe co-incidence but I broke a bolt on the turbo in my 4by on the same trip and the exhaust gas escaping raised the under hood temps quite a bit although the cable which was 30cm away looks fine could it have been damaged and causing the problem?
