I tried the switch because I had spare parts and the 2290 was toast but the output is not any better...mayby less with the 2879?
I am driving it with a Cobra 29 with the mosfet upgrade (IRF520) DK is 2 watts..PEP is 30w from radio.
Turn on Mod V I get DK 20watts.. PEP about 60. Turning down radio or Mod V is no help.
I have another Mod V I use behind a mosfet galaxy 66 and get a strong 90-95 PEP with original 2290.
I tried different value capacitors on the output transformer ( had 2 820pf siver micas.. I changed them to a single 1000pf) but did not change much.
Any ideas guy's
