Hi, repaired many a radio's circuit tracks-i,e. fine tweezers screwdriver-pressure- superglue before now. but any views on the reverse i,e lifting a circuit board track(trace) off a donor radio board-any views, i have done this before but a llllong time ago? i thought heat, Alcohol, scalpel? and no i dont wish to just bridge with wire as i know all those methods. any thoughts''.

Not practical.

The copper is bonded to the fibreglass/phenolic using a very strong adhesive and more often than not you will tear the copper before it comes away cleanly.

Even if you could get it off in one piece, the next issue is applying it and gluing it successfully onto the board.

it is as you say unpractical but hay a cb user is happy with a super glued trace. and the cb is stable now, so what is practicality.

If the trace is big enough I suppose it would work. When I think of PCBs these days I think of very tiny narrow traces that don't stand up to any heat etc and are impossible to repair even with wire links.
