cobra 19 ..... DX IV and Ultra III the same? or uniden 510?
ok i am looking for a small radio for my jeep. needs to be compact and i would like to play with it to get a little more power out of it. i was looking at the cobra 19. i can order a 19 DX IV from radio shack or get a ultra III from wal mart. looks like the only difference is the dx iv has a rf gain. are the mods the same or the boards different? what is the actual power out these radios? i ve seen some getting 20 watts pep and others say no way. i was also looking at the uniden 510 and 520, but will my astatic noise canceling mike from my cobra 29 work on the uniden radio? if either of these radios will not be enough i was also looking at using a linear with them, but is it possible to get them to key low enough? please some insight would be great! thanks

Well We just had a walmart radio on the meter,3- was max watts
So a Palamar Mod-5 Modulator Works great.
It is varabal power out put,It can handle 10- watts hitting it.
It has 1446 pills in it 2-of them,$109.00 H&Y on the phone.
No RMK crap, NO Texas star 2869 in it. I'm using the palamar wright now for a 1 1/2 years. johhn east texas
