Hi I've tried to expanded frequency on a a Yaesu FT-26 / FT26 / FT 26.
So far I've failed.
What I've tried is the few bits of information I've found online.

/
from this site I've tried this:
1. Remove the battery and antenna.
2. Remove the four screws holding the back track.
3. Remove the two screws in the back case.
4. Carefully seperate the front cover.
5. Locate and remove solder on jumper pad 10. (on the control board)
6. Apply solder to jumper pads 1,3,7 and 8.
7. Reassemble the radio.
8. Turn radio on and each channel indicater will blink.
9. Enter the following frequencies. (use the [F] and up arrow keys)
CH.1 135.000 Press [D/MR] Lower Rx limit
CH.2 174.000 Press [D/MR] Upper Rx limit
CH.3 135.000 Press [D/MR] Lower Tx limit
CH.4 174.000 Press [D/MR] Upper Tx limit

From FixxYa I've tried this:
Make FT26 open and locate straps 1 to 8 on the "CONTROL UNIT". Now you
must close the following straps : 1, 3, 5, 7, 8. Close your FT26 and turn the
power on while keeping at the same time the "TONE" and "REV" depressed.

Now you need reprogramming low and high frequency edge :

When "1" is blinking enter RX lowedge and then push "D/MR"
....."2"...................RX high.................."D/MR"
....."3"...................TX low..................."D/MR"
....."4"...................TX high.................."D/MR"

You can reprogram your "ARS" like in the OPERATING MANUAL page 21.
My choice was 136 to 180 MHZ in RX-TX and it work very good!

I did the soldering straps : 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 (strap 9 and 10 are soldered from before)
Turned it on holding D/MR + T + REV for full reset (or T + REV for partial reset)
Then turned off and back on holding both MT and MHz to open up the freq range.
Turned off againand back on holding RPT/SET to set the ARS range, but it only give me 1 and 2
CH.1 135.000 Press [D/MR] Lower Rx limit
CH.2 174.000 Press [D/MR] Upper Rx limit

So I can't set
CH.3 135.000 Press [D/MR] Lower Tx limit
CH.4 174.000 Press [D/MR] Upper Tx limit

Some sites suggest remove solder on jumper pad 10, and not soldering jumper nr 5, as far as I can tell this is wrong.
But I'm not entirely sure.
I've tried either way and none work, but without jumper 5 I couldn't enter TX RX setting by holding RPT/SET and turning on.

No idea why realy.

It will operate as far as 140.000-150.000 only, outside that I get just "Err"
Freq is adjustable from 130.000 to 174.000 though.
The other radios I know some have DO work outside the 140.000-150.000 range.
I can't get my hands on 1 to actually see what is soldered, but someone opened his and told me 3, 7, 1 and 5 + 9 and 10 where soldered.

And what about jumper 2, 4 and 6, are they normally closed or open?
I'm pretty new to all this stuff, and google won't turn up any other results or guides for me.

Anyone have experience with the Yaesu FT-26 / FT26 / FT 26 and see that I've missed something obvious?
