The RFX75 is well worth the $35 to $40 for the power that you will get!!
I have one that i installed in my Galaxy DX 959 and its doing 2~10w carrier 100 watt swing +or- 5w... this is high from what i have seen from the RFX75 box avg is 50 to 75 but it depends on what radio its going in that will determine the swing
The Meter i use is a Workmen HP201S
for the Cobra 25 hear is the install for the RFX75

just a side note you will need to change the inline fuse from a 3 Amps to a 7 Amps min.
The power cord may need to be upgraded as well to a 16 gauge or better.
My DX 959 is pulling 3 Amps with a 2w carrier and just over 5 1/2 Amps with a 10w carrier when i give it AUDIO on AM it pulls 7 Amps and on SSB it pulling 14 Amps

PS: paying $10 bucks for them EKL parts is not worth it.. get more power with the IRF520 chip.
do the mod as if you where using the erf2030 and EKL EN-1230 but sub the erf2030 for an IRF520 and the EKL EN-1230 for a home brewed one.
This will drop the cost and up the power a bit.
hear is a pic of the inner workings of a EKL EN-1230 to build a home brewed One

where to get the parts well i use radio shack.
D1 = 1N4148 1x 10 pack radio shack Catalog #: 276-1122 1x=$1.49
R1 = 470 Ohm 2x 5 pack radio shack Catalog #: 271-1317 2x=$1.98
R2 = 3.3K Ohm 2x 5 pack radio shack Catalog #: 271-1328 2x=$1.98

The Cost for 10x IRF520 off E-bay is $15 after S&H
I pay $1.50 per IRF520 and $0.55 for the home brewed EKL EN-1230
That is $7.95 cheaper than what you are paying but i buy in bulk to do 10 radios and i don't bother with the 68PF cap..
so in all without the 68PF cap it cost $20.45 to do up 10 Radios..

If you cant get a install for the RFX75 for a Radio that you may have let me know and ill see what i can do to help.

Hope that helps 617 North East Corner Boston just gut down and i am back quiet

thank you for the info.. ive heard mixed reviews on the ir vs. erf some say more pwr like you an others say they r tha same ? i never used a ir520 yet but will give it a try to compare on a new 25ltd side by side with a en2030 in another to see if i get a diff on my bird43. as for your home brew en1230.. how do you think you see a pwr gain if using the same components? or is it just due to size/home made being lager an therefore internal heat mostely the factor in the 1230?? thanks again for the info and helpful tips

Hello,
the IRF520 run very well. And they are very inexpensive.
I have tested them in my Grand.
SSB 38-42 watt max., adj. on approx. 25-30 watt
AM 8 watts death key
FM approx.18 watts (with a small trick)
