b525 switching transistor

Hi all.
Can any on tell me where to buy a replacement transistor for my mk1 cobra gtl-dx.I have tried my local radio store and the ones that they sell dont do the job !
Here is the part i am looking for...Swithching transistor B525..The mk1 cobra has 3 of these one of mine is down...i.e no output power on fm. but power is fine on ssb....
any help is welcome...thank's for the use of the forum.

You could try using an NTE298, which is a replacement option.

You probably want to get hold of "Truck King", they are one of the better places in the UK, http://www.truck-king.co.uk

Kens Electronics sells them, in the US, but he does international sales.

Replacement for 2SB252

You can replace 2SB525 with BC636 just turn it round as Emitter and Base differ from the 2SB525 or you can use BD136 I have been using them for years. The BC and BD transistors are obtained at most good electronics shops E.G Grandata www.grandata.co.uk Hope this helps.

Thank's for the info.I found a place in england (uk) that had Bd 136.Guess what they worked fine.Thanks for all the hel i got and thanks for the use of the forum.
