trying to fix this for an old timer

anyone have the alignment procedure for this radio

the board is PC-198AA with the D858 chip

all help is much appreciated

oh im sorry need the full alignment procedure receice is low on this one

Radio setup:
Channel 19 (27.185 MHz).
RF gain set to max.
N.B switched off.
Set Signal generator to 27.185 MHz with a signal of 1uv.

RX alignment procedure tune L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7 and L8 for max signal on scope at the junction C29 and C30 this is TP8 not show no diagram.

Run through the alignment for a second but with Signal generator set to 0.5uv, when you completed the alignment adjust L1 clockwise 1/4 to 1/2 turn, this stops front end flood on strong signals.
S meter is VR1.

this radio does not have the L2 can you listed is there another board out there for this

i believe this a president honest abe on bigger box

The alignment procedure I gave you is for PC-198. You quote below

the board does say PC-198AA

cant find L2 anywhere on the board

Do you have the sch diagram for the radio?
What is the ref and ic number of the AF amps you should find two AF amps.

thanks for all the help rick

after really looking at this radio its a wash because it was stored in a damp place for some time there are lots of the components are corroded.
