ASTRO PLANE PARTS

Post by JOHNNY BE GOOD »

I had a post a couple of weeks ago [identify this beam] about a person bought a house and wanted this 40' tower with a avanti astro beam on top of it taken down. Well its down but the top section of the driver element slid out of the clamp years ago no big deal if I can find a source for the alum. tubing I got the specs off the internet . Also while trying to seperate the section for hauling I broke the connection where the coax conn. is soldered to the sleeve with a peice of wire sould not be a big deal will have to drill rivots out to get to it. If anyone knows if avanti is still in buisness and has a web site please let me know. I am lucky and live on top of a big hill so my ground plane is working ok but I never had a directional antenna. Can't wait to see what it will do. Thanks for any suggestions John

I think Avanti became Antenna Specialists & are still in business - mainly cell phone kit (shame really 'cos their stuff was the badgers nadgers as cb antennae goes!) :?

Bits & bobs do appear on fleabay from time to time - might be worth a look?
You're 5 & 9 - what's your QRZ again???
