my swr is 4-10 depending if i ground it or not.when its not grounded the swr is around 6.when grounded my swr is 10.it's a cobra 29 in a vovlo tractor.i ran a hard wire ground from antenna to door hinge top and another hard wire from bottom of hinge to frame.not much difference.any ideas.mike

On the volvo, I use a bird perch mount which works well. If you do not wish to go that route, your antenna may need a counterpoise, which is a couple pieces of #14 wire cut to 1/4 wavelength and stretched out.
