best place to mount antenna

I have an F 250 crew cab where and how should I mount the antenna. I have a wilson 2000 bolted to the front of the cap about the window. Whith a ground wire to the chassie.the cb shop can't adjust it , something about no ground plane. He said I should get a 102 whip.
