superstar 4900b transmit problem shuts down then powers on

hi guys, i have a superstar4900b base station i purchased it brand knew from the usa. i was wiring a silver eagle upto it and for some reason i cant transmit anymore.the radio switches on and off when i try to transmit the radio switches off for 1 second then back on to receive. the radio receives fine its just a problem with the transmitter before i tried to wire the silver eagle upto it and i must have caused something to open circuit in the radio i was wondering if it couild be the pa or just regulator or switching transistor ,thasnks in advance david nsw australia :?:
