Wanted info on parts suppliers / wholesale to dealer parts

Post by rollincbmods »

Hello all,

I am new to the cb repair and modification world. I am trying to locate the best/cheapest suppliers of parts and accessories.

I also would like to know which echo board is the most highly recomended. The only one I have had any dealing with thus far is the Astatic EB-1, which sounds ok, but I was told it recently that it is the worst of them to use.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I will be out on the road for about a week, and will check back when I get in.

Sourcing any parts these days is a mission.

Manufacturers aren't holding large stocks of anything, what they do have is usually the parts that never fail and no one wants.
Anything half-way useful is never in stock, or they can't supply it.

The best option I have seen is to jump down on as many second hand "junk" sets you can find and reasonably store in whatever space you have.

These are the best source of parts by far.

Try RF Parts and Westgate Laboratories for parts.
You can either google them or I'll look up the www's

I use westgate for most parts..rf parts for items westgate doesn't have.
As far as echo boards...I prefer the original LT-2 board. They cost a little more, but your customers will be more satisfied.
Radio- Ramko in Toledo and MJ products in Riverside, Ca are the two I use the most. You can also look into A1 Telecom in Niles Mi.
Hope this helps.

I prefer the rf limited trb-1 for the sounds and versatility, however, the average driver won't do anything but annoy everone including themselves with it.
The lt-2-n is the best alround and easiest to install for the money spent.
I also spend the time to expain to the customer how and how not to use them.
