RCI 2950 NO RX SSB
Radio Make and Model: RCI 2950
PCB Number: ept295013z
PLL Number:
Test gear available: digital multimeter ,frequency counter
Symptoms: no RX ssb/cw
What is working: every thing else works fine good TX in all mode but no RX in ssb/cw only.
What has been tried: align the receive but no change
Did it suddenly happen ?: don't know
Anything else that may be of help?: when i got the radio there was no RX/TX in any mode only PA was working ,there was also a loud squeal from the speaker . IC21 was replace to stop the squeal and also replace IC17 and IC7 and the radio came back to life the only problem i see now is that there is no SSb RX , TX is ok. Q20,Q21,Q22,Q23 all check OK.

it doesn't make sense ? why good receive am/fm and no receive ssb??? all voltage on the IC's are good and all the transistors that i check so far are good also? could the crystal X3 that is next to L29 be the problem? the radio does transmit full power on ssb but i don't know if it is on frequency. AM/FM receive is great it's better than my cobra 200gtl.

Q54 is ok ,it's more like there is no signal to amplify i don't see any bars on the display but when touch C82 with a small screwdriver i see bars but no sound so i replace C82 and still have nothing on ssb RX?

Only other thing I can think of is to check IC19 and C216 and C219, but I am not a tech.
