replacing 2sc1969s in galaxy for a flange mount mosfet final
i am thinking of replacement of the 2sc1969s in my galaxy.for the new flange mounted mosfet finals.has anyone had any experience with this modifications.trying to set it up,like the stryker 440hp.with the high powered flange mounted mosfet final.opions please.i have tryed the mrf-2030s in one radio.and was not impressed.hoping for better results from the flange mounted mosfets.
Re: Replacing 2sc1969s in galaxy for MOSFET.
Stryker 440hp does not use a MOSFET final but a RF bipolar transistor M1104 that has now been replaced with SD1446. Mitsubishi make a 100-watt MOSFET (RD100HHF1) check out www.rfparts.com/mitstran.html it maybe worth reading this doc www.polyfet.com/rftopics.pdf before you go down this road. A few Jap HF ham radios have started to use Mitsubishi MOSFET?s. What is an mrf-2030 when it is at home, do you mean ERF-2030? What was the output power you was getting form mrf-2030 / ERF2030?

hello rick, hows it going bud.well i hope.i thank you for the info.on the mosfet final.and you were correct it is a erf2030,that i tryed,my bobo...well like i said in another message.i have tryed the erf-2030 in a single final cobra 148gtl,and was not impressed at all.matter of fact the stock 2sc1969,out did it on power output.course it maybe a different ballgame on the double final galaxy.dont know havent gone there yet.there is also another final like unto the erf2030,it is something like an irf-1520 or something like that i was reading about.dont know if it would out perform the erf-2030 or not.just tinkering, your friend in the mag. the ramblingman (jimmy keys) and thanks again for the info.have a good day.

Hey Rambling Man. I installed one of those kits in my DX 44V, and I received pretty good results. Here is a link to a fellow in Wisconsin.
