galaxy dx 44-no receive or modulation

hello,there.tr-51,2sb754 is the voltage regulator.my opion is this is probably not bad.usually when this goes, you will have no carrier on am.it will still transmit on ssb o.k.,and receive and modulation is usually still good.if it was accidently hooked up backwards and burnt out the chokes,id be looking in the area of the capacitors around the audio chip area.id check c-129,c150,c151,c152,c145,c146

hello again,to check the capacitors youll have to pull them from the circuit one by one,and youll need a capacitance checker.to too if they are correct capacitance.you can check them for short, just like a diode or resistor.just put your v.o.m on x10 ohm,and make sure there not reading full scale (short),thet should just bum the meter allitle and fall back.you should also should see some signs around a bad capacitor, some times if they blow the bottom pops out.other signs like a powerey residue at bottom of cap.
