I have never heard of a ssb conversion for a cb. I am sure there are super tech's who can do it, but I have never heard of it. Of course I lead a fairly sheltered life...

Converting AM to SSB.

Post by Rick »

Why did you start the Topic with something like ?Converting AM radio to SSB? with a topic like that you may of obtained a better answer or give a better description of what you was trying to do.

Anyway it is not viable to do such a conversion. It is not just a case of soldering in a few components and away we go, you would need to redesign the circuit of the AM radio to accommodate the SSB circuitry.

You would be better of just buying a SSB radio to start with, something like the Galaxy and some of the Ranger and the Superstar SS158EDX is a very good radio.
