:?: which model base station do you have and what is the board number?
What are you thinking of doing to it also?

 help us with some info on your radio and what your intensions are and we might be able to help or point you into a direction of help.

1) Grab the radio with both hands with the front of the radio facing you.
2) Elevate the radio to a position around your belly button.
3) Walk to the nearest trash can. (A trash dumpster will do in a pinch)
4) While grasping the radio with your left hand, use your right hand and remove the lid from the trash can.
5) Elevate the radio just above the trash can and release the radio.
6) While still holding the lid of the trash can, replace lid.
7) Turn exactly 180 degrees and walk back the way you came.

That's it! Its that easy!

on a more serious note...

cut r104

am vr6

ssb vr7

tr 32 is the AMC

also....you can add channels...You have to replace the 11.1125mhz crystal with a 11.3258mhz crystal before doing this mod.

i can post a pic showing how to do the channel mod if you'd like

Or if you like, do a search in yahoo on "The Mod" and you will find a extremly good mod for your radio. No cutting of tracks/drilling holes for switches and you use the same 11.1125MHz crystal that your radio already has.
If you have this mod installed in your radio, your rodio will appear stock looking with no added switches but will not be stock. You`ll have a cool 3 digit display and a whole lot of channels. If you ever deside to sell the radio you could pull the mod out and make it back to stock and no one will ever know that is was ever modded.

You have a good radio that will work well with this mod.
Its worth having a look at.

Cheers
Min.

It is very simple, but I am limited to time. Plus the other half doesn`t want me in this room as much. She seems to think I spend more time with my computer & cb`s than I do with her.
Join the yahoo group. Everything is there on making the board and installing the mod.

Sorry frogman296, I just noticed that I didn`t answer your question.
I haven`t done 1 to a cobra 2000, but from what I have read in the forum it is very simple. You`ll just have to change the crystal to a 11.1125MHz and the pll to a MB8719pll. Do an alignment then install the mod which isn`t all that difficult.

There are a lot of people in the forum that have done 2000`s so you could ask question in there if your not to sure on something.
The 2000 looks very nice with the mod.

I have attached a pic of one of the group members Cobra 2000 GTL with the mod.

the trc-490 is a good modding radio..it has the same p.c.b..as the uniden washington..pc-385..you can modd it for channels pretty easy..also there is a npc mod that gives this unit excellent audio upgrade....any mod you find for the uniden washington with the pc-385 pc board should work for your radio......
