Cobra 29 LTD Soundtracker - Clarifier unlock

Post by RedEye »

Does anyone know the proper parts to remove to do the unlock? The diode and resistor numbers are different on the soundtracker board...
Thanks in advance,

1)Remove D-18 , R-110 , C131 and R-112. 2)Put jumper were R-110 was. 3)Take orange wire from delta tune and unsolder it from board then resolder it to Tr-23 (Solder to the pin closest to front of board. It should have around 8 VDC on this pin.) 4)Put radio back together and if all is done right you should slide transmit 5-6 KCs up and down. For more slide change D-16 to a 1N-4007

Change varicap diode D16. I don?t think this will work as 1N4007 is a general purpose 1 amp 1000 volt plastic rectifier diode and not a varicap diode.

Components ref in the above message are for a 29LTD and not Soundtracker model.

What is the point in making an AM only radio shift?

Its AM rig so where are you going to go. AM carrier is 10khz wide and if you shift up or down 5khz you are now 5khz in to the next channel.
