need help with cobra 200gtl dx clarification fix for 26mhz

Post by hamguy2 »

hi everyone, im located in australia its monday nite here at 921pm.i own a cobra 200gtl dx ive had it 2 years no trouble ,the only trouble i have is when im on the 26mhz freqs the people on 26720 cant understand me and i cannot them.when im on 27355lsb or 27555 usb everythings perfect it seems that the clarifier isnt tracking the freq on 26mhz known as the newzeland band ,there is a modification you can do to fix up being heard on 26720 lsb etc but when you do that it knocks out your 27 mhz band etc .giving the same symtoms as what you had on 26720 lsb it seems to happen to the channels ending in zero on 26mhz mainly the new zealand cb band is between 26330 and 26770 am usb lsb ..im told the faults in the clarifiers can anyone tell me or can direct me to a radio shop or another place where i can buy the parts and components to fix this its other people, i know others who have the same problem to.thanks in advance david nsw australia.

Common fault, change xtal X2. X2 is a special xtal and you can not you any old xtal.

The only place I know where you can get the xtal is Truck King in the UK.
www.truck-king.co.uk

If you email them, tell them Rick put you on to them.
Rick.
