Galaxy 959 Feq counter modification ?

Would it be possible or feasible to modify the frequency counter to display a resolution to that of a six digit counter?
example: instead of 26.995 it would read 7.9951
I was just brainstorming and wanted to get an opinion from some people who may have thought about this before.
