Symptoms: radio is off freq when turned on ,after ten minute warm up it gets on freq.

hi, i was wondering about the simple ppe mod for the 94hp .
this is basically just a resistor/diode mod on the voltage regulator .
my question is "is this mod ok for the mosfet transistors in the 94hp?this mod in question is for the 6900 boards but doesnt say wether it be mosfets or bipolar ...

i passed this radio on ,i dont do smd work.thanks for your input.

thanks for your input .i have already changed the 10.240 crystal,same results .nothing changed .i did redo some areas of solder that could be reached.rick has responded over at his forum with the solution.its a little out my experience so i,m going to live with it until our other radio comes back ...

changing the crystal did nothing .went out an hour later and ch19 reads 27.187.so nothing has helped so far .

changed out the 10.240 crystal this morning .resoldered the rest of the crystals .gonna put it back in the cold truck and see what happens.i only have trouble when the radios cold .all galaxies drift a little but this was excessive.updates later.

thanks for all your insite .i have sent the radio on its way .i do not have the ability to work on smd devices.i told the owner to go to dtb radio ,i hear he`s the man for the cobra 200`s.

Did it suddenly happen ?: got it this ...

cold weather can cause a little drift ,but i have never seen it this bad .usually 1kc at most.even my general lee is on freq when cold .the 6th digit may be a few off is all.thanks for your response.

nobody???ok..what crystal should i change out or suspect first??x2?there are 3 in this chassis.

hi guys ,i am wondering myself what exactly techs are doing to these stykers to get them so loud .whats the basic tune up for a stryker?

i just bought a stryker 440hp after doing the conversion i simply turned up the modulation vr (vr14)and this radio started swinging 55-60 watts from a 2 watt ...

the bridge would be right where the wire was originally attached,when you remove the wire you remove the bridge too.then you move it to pin 9 on the band selector.pin 9 will be empty from factory.

this is why i said your all over the place .didnt ...

these are not my directions,it is info pulled from the web.if your converting a ss36 then your doing it wrong ...putting the wire to pin 9 is the conversion for the 33 not the 36.your all over the place.which actual radio are you working on?

check your radio then check the conversion.they are ...

you originally asked for mods for a 33...the 36 conversion info is at the same link just scroll down until you see it .its the one that says remove the resistors from the board .there is a picture there just scroll down.doing that mod opens up all the channels


watch for the typo there it should ...

now that link is only good for the superstar 33 or ganger rg 33 ..not the connex 33 .

i have recieved talkback info on this board ....cut or lift one end of D36.
all i need yet is the info to bring the power down on 11 meters more .the L can info.
