i ran across a mod that says to jump D8 what does this do to the radio ? also i have seen schematics which have the number of D8 penciled in as 1N4003 does changing it from 1n4004 to 1n4003 do something ?

I ran across this on another forum and found it to work realy good for the Cobra 29.It may be of use to some. If this is comming in through the power and not the antenna you may want to try this http://n4maa.us/alternator.htm I found it to work on several different interferences.

Can someone tell me is there a way to calibrate these myself. I have a PDC 700 and a PDC 600. I think the 700 is OK but the 600 seems off id like to be able to check them both if there is a way to do this.

Rick I made a mistake the Volts I gave you for TR-51 were reading I wrote down and were taken from TR-41
TR-51 E=16.03 C=5.60 B=15.42

I found out my V meter battery was weak. my V is the same now.i just dont have but .5 watts? you were right on about the power its running up to 16 volts at TR-51

Rick I did reset the collector v at TR 51 I dont think the power is bad. I will look close at other joints and the pc board.

I touched up a few solder joints around the driver and final I now have about .5 watts on my RF meter.
TR44 RX B=0.00 C=5.97
TR44 TX B =.66 C =3.77

TR43 RX B=0.00 C=6.00
TR43 TX B=.45 C=1.38

Sorry Rick R223 has 8.92 and 6.38 volts I miss understood. Tr45 should be correct emitter is connected to R220

I replaced TR-45 with a NTE293 didn't have a replacement. TR-45 was a 2sc1973 I now have a new 2sc1973 I can install.
Also R223 has 0.00volts each side.

TR- 45 TX is C=5.59V and B=1.14V
TR-44 TX is C=5.30V and B=.59V
TR-43 TX is C=5.60V and B=.52V

A strange thing I found out this morning about this noise. I run channel 40 I don't have the noise right now but it's down on channel 29 strange. I think Ill keep an eye everyday and see if it's moving around.
