Help!!! Cobra 148gtl(uniden) mod

Post by swautomotive »

I have a modded radio and don't know which road map to use. It has a pod on the inside with no writing on it. On the outside it has a three possition switch. On the back it has a sticker tha says RMC on it. I have six volumes of the ""C.B. Tune-Up Manual Master Edition." I am not sure which one to use. I also donnot have a frequency counter for it. Please help!!! :?

I am not familiar with RMC, but without a frequency counter or another radio with channels, making a roadmap won't be easy. There are just too many different ways to wire the switch for channels.

This of course assumes that the switch mods the PLL. If the switch is actually part of a channel kit with crystals, then you will be in luck, because, when I get to work I can look up the Kit number and you can just grab the sheet for the kit. There are 2 commonly available Kits for that radio, one is the L kit, the other one escapes me at the moment. Download the L kit channel chart and try it in the mean time.
