quick question??
i am updating a cobra 29 to blue led's. all done but have not got the old led (channel indicator) removed yet. Could someone direct me on this a bit??? i have the replacement on standby and ready to solder, but can not seem to figure out how to remove the old one????

guess i can answer my own question here.
after removing the screws that hold the large switch (channel selector), you can then slide out the led board. after the board is removed, you have two options... you can use de-soldering techniques (solder sucker, de-soldering wicks, etc.) or you can get out your handy little wire cutters and clip the old led off. ofter that, you then clean up the mounting holes on the board and apply the new led display.
hope this helps someone out there. also if the brightness is too much, you can use a piece of window film, or cut a piece of cd-case material (lexan) of your choice.
