Would anybody have any info as to why my general grant radio would have fading receive after unit warms up? I have read the post on the EPT690010Z board, and not yet performed any mods except the frequency expansion. The dealer where i bought it did the modification. also wattage was tweeked a little. When compared to my ALAN9001, the signal at first is the same. Then after about 20 minutes, a "9" signal will fade to "3", then stabilise. I tried cooling individual components on the board with "freeze it", with no results. The unit is always done this, and was purchased brand new. Thanks for the info....

If the PCB number is EPT690010Z check D16, D17 and D146, if you connect a DVM to the Cathode of D146 and ground monitor the voltage as the radio warms up if it drops more than 15 to 20% try replacing IC1 LA324.

I checked the PCB#, and upon dissasembly, I found the P/N for the board. Instead of EPT690010z, it was EPT690010C. Will this change the above stated modifications? If so, thanks in advance for the information. Hope to hear from you soon....... fuzzyfireman338
