I'm a bit confused about the radio, is it a jumbo with another radio fitted in it ?.
If it's a 3900 type board the VR's for RX are VR1 and VR2, one for AM/FM and the other for U/LSB.
Is the radio off by one channel on all bands on AM/FM and how many bands does it have as I've not seen the radio.
If it has 12 bands then you may find that it's only off on 6 of the bands and on the correct frequency on the other 6.
I think you'll find that the AM/FM tuning coil has been adjusted too far moving you to the next channel above or below depending on the way it's been adjusted.

hi dave the radio is a texas ranger 6900f jumbo 12 bands 24.265-29.965 50w fm 150 ssb as said before it only seems to be off on fm like if you are on 27.555 usb and turn the mode switch to fm it will go to 27.565 and its bugging the hell out of me shame its a nice radio also i noticed when i took bottom cover off, the band selector has been changed from the three one that was in it to a six one because the radio only has abc on the front maybe something to do with it i dont know and they aint no techs round here and its abit above my head the board layout is the same as 2517 i think i found out VR1 was for fm meter and VR2 was ssb meter adjustment. any help i would be greatful thanks shaun

I think you'll find you need to adjust L41 the AM/FM coil for the 6 highest bands.
You didn't say if the radio is off frequency on all it's bands or just 6 of them.

Both L45 and L41 need adjusting if it's off all the way through.
I could do it for you but I'm 6 mile NE of Manchester.
Hope you find someone to put right for you.
