Rick, I was looking at the manual online and saw that there is a push button knob that turns the frequency counter off and on. Is there a way to get the knobs back to working; push in and out without causing damage? WD-40? Screwdriver? I think that the knobs are just pushed in because it was poorly ...

Rick, Yes it is an ebay job. Can you tell me how to get the frequency counter to work? Is there a switch to turn it off and on? This is the main thing that I need to fixed before I start talking on it. I could probably live with the knobs the way they are but it would be nice to get them working. I ...

Galaxy 95T2 help
Ok, I bought me a much bigger radio than before. I got a Galaxy 95T2 and seem to be having a little trouble. The guy I bought it from says it deadkeys on low at 10 watts and swings to 250 and on high dk at 100 watts and swings to 250. Does the swing wattage change at more power is put out on the dea...

Cobra 25 NWST help
I bought me a backup Cobra 25 NW ST radio off ebay. Says it deadkeys at 5 watts and swings to 25. I found that the deadkey is at 1.5 watts. Not sure about the swing; I don't have a way to test that with my wattmeter. It has echo and talkback installed. Echo on ANL switch and Talkback is on NB switch...

Cobra 146 GTL help
I have an old Cobra 146 GTL that found in the closet. Tried it out. Found that when I transmit my voice only goes about 1/2 half mile but the needle on the receiving radio keeps moving at farther distances, say 4 miles down the road. The needle keeps moving but no sound from the 146 radio in being r...

HG M84 mic wiring
I have a Cobra HG M84 mic that came with a CB I bought from this guy. He said it worked but when I hooked it up to my Cobra 29, the TX button stayed on but would not transmit. It looks like he cut the end off and tried to solder a new end on it. Looks pretty crappy so I would like to fix it. I need ...

Right now, my antennas are leaning back some. I'll see if I can get them to tilt forward tomorrow. Most people I talk to are going the opposite direction as I am so I guess this would help. What do you plan on doing with the key?? I would like to crank it up so that I am putting out more watts to go...

I changed antennas too. I noticed that one of my dual antennas was broken so I replaced both with 4' firestik, which I tuned to about 1:2 to 1:3. I tuned them as a pair. Not sure if that is how you are supposed to do duals. If needed to raise one, I raised them both in equal increments. Anything els...

I have an old radio shack swr/field strength meter. I tuned the antennas with that one before I got the 29. When I key the mike, the field strength meter moves pretty far to the right, about twice as far as when I would key the mike with my stock 25. The meter on the 29 goes to about 9db on the mete...

The swr is perfect 1:1:1. I am a local truck driver. I make rounds from Houston to San Antonio and back. I mainly talk to other drivers as we are going in opposite directions. This is also normal at night. I run mostly at night and during the mornings when there is little traffic. I know my signal o...

COBRA 29 Help w/ DK and Swing
Alrighty, this is my problem. I bought a "moded" Cobra 29 off ebay. It has echo, talkback and a fancy faceplate. The guy that I bought it from said that he had all the work done on it many years ago. It is supposed to deadkey at 5 watts and swing to 27 watts. I do not have a wattmeter nor ...
